The ELEGOO OrangeStorm Giga is a large-format FDM 3D printer built for applications where a conventional desktop 3D printer simply isn't large enough. With an 800 × 800 × 1,000 mm build volume, the OrangeStorm Giga can produce oversized prototypes, functional parts, tooling, fixtures, molds, props, and other large components with less need to split models into multiple sections.

3D Printing Canada supplies the OrangeStorm Giga in its single-printhead configuration, with a 300°C maximum nozzle temperature, 100°C heated build platform, automatic bed leveling, filament detection, power-loss recovery, and Wi-Fi, LAN, and USB connectivity.

Individually Prepared for the Canadian Market

The OrangeStorm Giga units supplied by 3D Printing Canada are not simply imported and resold as-is. Each machine is individually inspected and prepared for the Canadian market before it is supplied to a customer.

Our preparation process includes inspection and validation of the machine's electrical system. Depending on the individual unit, this may include:

  • Validation of installed power supplies
  • Replacement of power supplies where required
  • Updates to wiring to meet applicable North American requirements
  • Replacement of fuses or circuit protection with appropriate certified components
  • Inspection and verification of the completed electrical system

Following preparation, each machine is individually field evaluated to CSA SPE-1000 by an accredited Canadian inspection body. The applicable electrical safety approval marking is applied following successful evaluation.

Every machine is evaluated individually. The evaluation is performed on the completed machine supplied to you rather than relying on an evaluation of another unit or production batch.

What does this mean for you?

You're not receiving a standard imported OrangeStorm Giga with a different power cord. Your printer has been inspected and prepared specifically for the Canadian market and individually evaluated for electrical safety before it leaves our facility.

800 × 800 × 1,000 mm Build Volume

The OrangeStorm Giga provides a massive 800 × 800 × 1,000 mm build volume, giving you 640 litres of available build space. That makes it possible to produce parts approaching one metre in height without automatically dividing the model into smaller sections.

Large-format printing can reduce the number of seams, fasteners, bonding operations, and assembly steps required for oversized parts.

Typical applications include:

  • Large functional prototypes
  • Jigs and fixtures
  • Manufacturing tooling
  • Automotive and powersports components
  • Architectural models
  • Patterns and molds
  • Research and development projects
  • Large custom parts and replacement components
  • Props and large-scale displays

Four-Zone Heated Build Platform

The OrangeStorm Giga uses a large 820 × 820 mm build platform made up of four independent 410 × 410 mm PEI magnetic build plates. Each heating zone can be controlled independently, allowing you to heat only the portion of the platform required for a particular print.

The heated platform reaches up to 100°C. When the entire platform is required, all four zones can be heated simultaneously.

300°C Hotend and 100°C Heated Bed

The OrangeStorm Giga features a maximum nozzle temperature of 300°C and a heated bed capable of reaching 100°C. ELEGOO lists PLA, PETG, and TPU among the supported filament materials.

The included nozzle is 0.6 mm, with optional 0.4 mm, 0.8 mm, and 1.0 mm nozzle sizes available.

Single Printhead, Expandable to Four

The OrangeStorm Giga is supplied by 3D Printing Canada in its single-printhead configuration. This provides a straightforward starting point for large-format FDM printing without requiring you to purchase a multi-printhead configuration from day one.

The OrangeStorm Giga platform can be expanded to support up to four printheads. 3D Printing Canada carries compatible OrangeStorm Giga printheads and upgrade components, allowing the machine to grow with your applications.

Additional printheads can be used for applications including multi-colour printing and parallel printing of multiple copies of the same model. Multi-printhead configurations require additional hardware and increase the printer's total power requirements.

Multi-printhead upgrades are sold separately and are not included with this single-printhead configuration.

Designed for Large-Format FDM

The OrangeStorm Giga combines its enormous build volume with a maximum toolhead speed of 300 mm/s and maximum toolhead acceleration of 5,000 mm/s². ELEGOO recommends a print speed of 150 mm/s.

Actual print speed depends on material, layer height, model geometry, extrusion requirements, cooling, and other print settings. Large-format printing is ultimately a balance between print speed, material flow, part quality, and thermal performance.

Automatic Leveling and Print Recovery

The OrangeStorm Giga uses automatic bed leveling to compensate for variations across its large build platform.

Filament detection monitors for filament interruptions and can pause the printer when filament runs out or breaks. Power-loss recovery also allows interrupted prints to be resumed rather than automatically losing the entire print.

These features are particularly valuable on a large-format machine, where a failed print can represent significantly more material and machine time than a typical desktop-sized print.

Network and File Transfer

The OrangeStorm Giga supports Wi-Fi, LAN, and USB file transfer, providing multiple options for sending print files to the machine.

Who Is the OrangeStorm Giga For?

The OrangeStorm Giga is designed for users whose primary limitation is part size. It is particularly well suited to businesses, manufacturers, designers, educators, researchers, fabricators, and advanced makers who need to produce parts larger than conventional desktop and prosumer FDM printers can accommodate.

Manufacturing & Prototyping

Produce large functional prototypes, jigs, fixtures, tooling, and custom equipment components with fewer individual sections.

Automotive & Powersports

Produce oversized development components, custom parts, mockups, fixtures, and prototypes.

Industrial Design

Produce large-scale prototypes and development models without repeatedly dividing designs into smaller printable sections.

Architecture & Visualization

Create large architectural models, sculptures, displays, and presentation pieces.

Education & Research

Provide students and researchers with access to a build volume far beyond conventional desktop FDM printers.

Props & Creative Fabrication

Print large props, sculptures, costumes, displays, and other oversized creative projects with fewer individual pieces.

Large-Format Printing Requires Large-Format Planning

The OrangeStorm Giga is substantially larger and heavier than a conventional desktop 3D printer. The machine measures approximately 1,224 × 1,164 × 1,425 mm and weighs approximately 104 kg before packaging.

Before ordering, make sure your facility has:

  • Adequate floor space and operating clearance
  • Suitable electrical service
  • A practical delivery route to the installation location
  • Equipment and personnel capable of safely moving the machine
  • A suitable environment for large-format FDM printing

This machine ships by freight. Delivery access and installation requirements should be considered before ordering.
