After doing a bit of research for what I wanted to print (nylon and maybe some polycarbonate later on but starting with PLA, PETG, and ABS) and looking up the prices for the upgrades I wanted I decided to go the easy route on my first 3D printer. This device arrived promptly from 3D Printing Canada and was fairly easy to set up (however one of the homing sensors has a somewhat hidden and that threw me off at first). One downside with this model is figuring out how to level a printer. This was a steep learning curve for a "noob" like myself (the auto bed leveling is decent once you've manually leveled it but completely useless at first) and took some practice and a few different YouTube tutorials to really figure out. You'll also want to add some lines to the slicer so it remembers your bed leveling mesh however I found that since I'm removing the flexible metal sheet almost every print that it's worth at least running the auto bed leveling between each print and checking it manually every few prints. Once you become a bit more proficient with leveling and figure out the slicer (I recommend switching to the current version of Ultimaker's Cura rather than Creality's older fork of it) this is a very easy to use set up. I've only printed a dozen or so items successfully so far and each print teaches me something new but I have to say I'm enjoying it immensely and would highly recommend this device to anyone who likes to tinker but wants a capable printer out of the box that requires few upgrades but has a bit of room for growth.
