Large-Capacity Moisture Control Without Chamber Heating
The Modix3D Large Spool Filament Dryer uses a molecular-sieve adsorption and exhaust system rather than heating the entire filament chamber.
During operation, molecular sieves adsorb moisture from the air inside the chamber. The system then exhausts the captured moisture, allowing it to maintain a low-humidity environment around the stored filament.
This approach is particularly useful for moisture-sensitive and hygroscopic materials such as Nylon, PETG, polycarbonate (PC), and water-soluble support materials. Keeping these materials in a controlled, low-humidity environment helps prevent them from absorbing additional moisture during storage and long print jobs.
The result is a large-capacity filament conditioning and storage solution designed to keep production filament ready to print without relying on the continuous heating used by conventional filament dryers.

Many common 3D printing materials are hygroscopic, meaning they absorb moisture from the surrounding air. Nylon is particularly moisture-sensitive, but PETG, polycarbonate and several support materials can also be affected.
