THE CONFLUX METAL 3D PRINTING PLATFORM

Rapidia’s Conflux 1 is an easy-to-use, fast, and affordable end-to-end metal additive manufacturing solution. The unique two-step process, from print to sinter, is enabled by Rapidia’s proprietary 3D printing technology called Metal Paste Deposition. By eliminating an additional debinding step, Rapidia's printers streamline manufacturing and reduce operational costs, making them some of the most affordable metal 3D printers on the market. Rapidia’s Metal 3D Printing Platform can be installed anywhere and allows 24-hour turnaround time for near-net metal parts. Companies looking to produce high-quality prototypes or small batch parts without incurring heavy expenses find Rapidia's metal 3D printers to be an extremely valuable asset.

Why Choose Metal 3D Printers?

High Efficiency

Rapidia’s metal 3D printers deposit a water-based metal paste, allowing for less binder and no need for an additional debinding step, making metal 3D printing faster and more efficient.

Safe for Office Use

Rapidia's metal 3D printers require no special
PPE or specialized facility requirements, ensuring a safe and convenient user
experience for anyone, anywhere.

Material Versatility

Rapidia’s material portfolio includes a wide range of metals including 316L Stainless Steel, 17-4 PH Stainless Steel, and Nickel Superalloy 625, offering advanced mechanical properties exceeding MIM standards.

Fast Turnaround: Most parts are finished in less than half the time it takes to make functional parts with metal filament, allowing for functional parts in under 24hrs.

Water-Based Feedstock: Rapidia’s metal paste consists of metal particles bound safely in a dilute mixture of water and binder. With less than 1% binder it eliminates the need for lengthy debinding processes, making production faster and safer.

Dual Extruder: Independent Dual Extruders allow Rapidia’s Conflux 1 to print two materials in the same print. Using Rapidia’s evaporative support material in one extruder allows printing of any shape, any overhang.

Simplified Workflow: Rapidia’s Metal 3D Printing Platform is ready to go without need for a dedicated operator and no additional equipment for powder handling, stress relieving, support removal or furnace chilling. Simple 2 step process from print to sinter.

Low Operational Costs: Rapidia’s system has among the lowest operating costs of any metal additive manufacturing system, keeping low-volume part production lean and agile.

Open Platform: Rapidia’s Metal 3D Printer accepts gcode from any preferred slicing software. While open source based Rapidia Cura offers support generation tools and slicing profiles tuned for optimal results, all settings remain unlocked to give users full control. Users may also create custom Conflux 1 Furnace cycles for vacuum heat treating, vacuum brazing, or specific sintering needs.

How does metal 3D printing work?

The basic procedure for developing 3D-printed structural components is as follows:A high-strength alloy is filled into the powder bed. Aluminum, titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, or cobalt chrome are common materials used in high-strength alloys. The selected alloy is then applied in a thin layer throughout the build platform. From there, the building process begins. A high-powered laser is used to draw the batch's bottom layer and any temporary support structures required for 3D printing sintering.A rubber wiper is then used to scrape another layer of metal powder across the pieces, and the lasering process continues until completion.Once completed, the part and the build supports are removed from the build chamber. The 3D-printed structural pieces can then be further processed according to customer specifications. After the 3D printing manufacturing process is finished, the pieces will be completely encapsulated in metal powder. The excess powder can be manually extracted once the bin has cooled to room temperature. Following that, the components will be accessible for post-processing.

What materials can be used in metal 3D printing?

Various materials are used for 3D printers, including plastics like PLA and ABS, and metals like aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, copper, and cobalt chrome. Additionally, in resin 3d printers, liquid resin materials are used to create solid objects.
